Ladakh is also fondly known as the “Land of high passes”. It is perhaps the highest settlement in India. It is the only place in India where twin humped camels can be found. Ladakh is home to the Mystical Magnetic Hill. The Bailey Bridge between the Suru and Dras river is the highest bridge in the world at an altitude of 5602 meters above sea level. The Pangong lake is one of the highest salt lakes in the world.

Day 1:  

Meet at Delhi Airport to board the morning flight (5.00am) to Leh. Arrive in Leh, Transfer to Hotel. Breakfast and rest. In the evening we drive to the ancient palace of Leh which was built in 1600 by the then King Singge Namgyal. From there drive to Shanti Stupa, a Japanese Peace Pagoda to see the sun set on the Indus Valley.

Day 2:

Morning visit to Thiksey Monastary & Hemis Monastary, We will drive at 8.00 am to the huge architecturally interesting Thiksey monastery covering a whole hillside. Then drive to Hemis monastery, the largest monastery in Ladakh belonging to the Kagyupa order of Buddhism. Return to Leh by late afternoon. At Leisure explore the quaint Leh town.

Day 3:

Drive to Nubra Valley crossing the highest motor able road in the world – Khardungla at 5596m.Its 40 km to the top of the pass. We pass the village of Khardung and the army settlement at Khalsar where there are a cluster of tea shops and restaurants. In between Deskit and Hundar village are the only sand dunes of Ladakh – unique to this area as well as the double humped Bactrian camels which can be seen grazing on the wild sea buckthorn bushes. Should camels be available you can enjoy a short ride (about Rs.300/- per ride) in the sand dunes.

Day 4:

After an early breakfast drive to Turtuk, Baltistan where people are sweeter than the Apricot. Turtuk is a picturesque border village in Baltistan, Ladakh very close to the LOC, with India and Pakistan.  Return to Hunder.

Day 5:

Drive back to Leh. Evening free to explore the market.    

Day 6:

After Breakfast, we drive to Pangom Lake. It’s a lovely green valley as we drive past Sakti village to Changla pass at 5100m. We then descend to the village of Tangtse where we take a break before driving the last hour to Pangom –5hrs total driving. We spend the night at a deluxe camp at a walking distance from the lake. O/N Pangong Deluxe Camp. 

Day 7:

Return to Leh by evening. Free to Explore the markets place/shopping for local artifacts.

Day 8:

Rafting day trip on the Zanskar starting from Chilling and ending at Nimo. This is a thrilling grade 2+sections with freezing waters.  After lunch at the beach drive back to Leh.

Day 9:

Fly out to Delhi. Arrive New Delhi by 10.30 am. 

Inclusions:

Personal expenses like laundry, bottled water, alcohol, soft drinks, junk food, entry tickets to monasteries and museums.

Note:

In case delays/Cancellation due to natural causes, like road blocks etc, we will not be held responsible. For changes in itinerary the extra cost will have to be borne by the clients.
